ARAPUNI FARMER’S claim COURT AWARDS 1,489 Press Association CAMBRIDGE, Saturday. The hearing was concluded this afternoon of the claim for £3,407 made against the Public Works Department by W. F. Woodward and J. F. McGechie, farmers, of Pukeatua, for compensation for submergence of land and road access and general losses due to the formation of Arapuni Lake. The Court, over which Mr. Justice Blair presided, awarded claimants £1,489, each party to pay its own costs. Assessors’ fees were fixed at £52 IDs, each party to pay its own assessor.
