ALONG UPHILL ROAD

COMMENT ON KING’S PROGRESS

DOCTORS ARE SATISFIED British Official "Wireless RUGBY. Friday. This week’s medical papers refer to the slow but steady progress toward convalescence which the King continues to make. The “British Medical Journal” states: “Bacteriological tests confirm the clinical evidence that the right chest is now free from infection. His pulse remains quiet, his sleep is better, and solid food can be taken in larger amounts. “This gratifying improvement, recorded last week, has been maintained, and we may look for further news from time to time of the King’s advances along the uphill road to recovery.” The “Lancet.” states that his Majesty’s progress will become more rapid when he arrives at the South Coast. It was stated at Buckingham Palace to-day that there was nothing to report about the King’s condition. From this statement, and similar official statements made yesterday morning, it is gathered that the doctors are very satisfied with the progress which the King continues to make. It is understood that the question of the mode of transport to be used for the King’s journey to Bognor is at present receiving serious consideration by his medical advisers. A motor ambulance was in the grounds of the Palace to-day. It is thought that a large and modern, well-equipped ambulance, probably from one of the hospitals, may be used to remove the King. No bulletin regarding the King's health was issued this evening.
