Donald, PostmasterGeneral, to the Mayor of Northcote, Mr. A. E. Greenslade. when inspecting the site for the new post office at Northcote yesterday. Turning to Mr. Alex Harris, M.P. for Waitemata, Mr. Donald asked: “When do you expect to make a start with the bridge?” “In two years,” replied Mr. Harris. “Two years!” exclaimed the Minister in surprise. “If I know anything, and have anything to do with it, it will be considerably less than that.’’ Loud laughter and applause greeted the remarks. Mr. Harris joining in with great gusto, and adding, “I sincerely hope so.’
