CAPTAIN’S FUNERAL
LATE UNION CO. MASTER Yesterday, at the Waikumete Crematorium, the funeral took place of the late Captain Donald McLean, a former commodore of the Union Steam Ship Company. Mr. E. Carter, the Auckland manager of the Union Company, Mr. Rudd and Mr. T. Birch represented the company, and the pall-bearers were Captain Martin, of the Maunganui, Captain McMillan, of the Cumberland, Captain Norton, of the Hauraki, and Captain freed, who was formerly chief officer of the hospital ship Maheno, commanded by Captain McLean. Captain Sergeant represented the Harbour Board, and many officers who had served with Captain McLean in the past were also present. The Rev. W. McDonald, of the Epsom Presbyterian Church, conducted the service. W. Bro. Hammond, of Lodge Ponsonby, recited the Masonic service, and many Freemasons were present.
