SUMMER IN ROTORUA
HOTTEST FOR 40 YEARS (Fr . * Our Oxen Correspondent) ROTORUA, To-day. Many old residents of Rotorua consider the present summer one of the hottest for the last 40 years. The highest temperature recorded this year by the thermometer in the Government observatory was 83*. On Sunday it showed 74 degrees and on Monday 76 degrees. So little rain has fallen that people relying on tanks are being compelled to carry water.
