Pahi Hau, an old and respected Mam-i resident of Rawhiti, met with a seri‘ >.i accident some weeks ago by striking his head on an overgrowing tree while lx was travelling along the beach on hoback. The injury is caufing much pain, and he is lying in a precarious condition in his brother’s home in the Rawhiti district.

Many improvements are being carried out on the Bay of Islands’ golf link', which are looking in good order in spite of the dry weather. The next season will open early in March.

There are a large number of holiday makers enjoying the launch trips at the Bay of Islands, and the launch owners are working at high pressure.
