“ALL THE KING’S HORSES” NEXT

VANBRUGH AND BOUCICAULT At His Majesty’s Theatre this evening. “Mr. Pim Passes By” is to be performed to an Auckland audience for the last time by the clever Van-brugh-Boucicault company. In . the extended period of the playing of “Mr. Pim,” the company scored one of the best successes of its season. There was another large attendance last evening. For five subsequent nights from tomorrow evening, C. E. Openshaw’s brilliant comedy, “All the King’s Horses,” will be specially featured by the company. The play was written for Irene Vanbrugh. In it, she made her reappearance in London after a tour of Australia and New Zealand. As Alice Everett, she can turn from deep emotion to the airiest of fun in an instant, and be convincing at both classes of acting. Miss Vanbrugh’s acting has much of its appeal in her power to suggest hidden thought. She is genuinely witty, too. Dion Boucicault classes his characterisation in

“All the King’s Horses” among his long list of finished portrayals. The cast of “All the King’s Horses” includes Annie Saker, Rowena Ronald, J. B. Rowe, Ronald Ward, Beatrice Fischer, Esmond Jones and Eileen Morris.

Later productions by the company will be “The High Road” and “Aren’t We All?”
