RAILWAY CEREMONY
CHRISTCHURCH-LYTTELTON ELECTRIFICATION (Special to 'THE SUN^ ’’WELLINGTON, To-day. To-day invitations are being issued by the Minister of Railways (the Hon. W. B. Taverner) to the ceremony to be held at Christchurch station in connection with the electrification of the Christchurch-Lyttelton line. Thursday, February 14, is the date and 2.30 p.m. the time. Afternoon tea will be taken at Lyttelton an hour later. While in Christchurch the general manager of railways, Mr. H. H. Sterling, will take the opportunity of looking into the complaints of the Canterbury Progress League which recently met officers of the department and submitted that the facilities for handling goods at Christchurch were inadequate. The matter then was deferred until Mr. Sterling was able to investigate.
