WATERSIDER’S FUNERAL

VICTIM OF ULIMAROA ACCIDENT The funeral of the late Mr. John Lawrie, who was killed on Thursday when a sling of timber collapsed on him in the hold of the Ulimaroa, took place at the Hillsborough Cemetery on Sunday afternoon. Many people were present at the graveside, headed by the Waterside Workers’ Silver Band and a number of representatives of the Waterside Union of Workers, to pay their respects to their late comrade, who was very popular on the waterfront. The Rev. J. Kemp conducted the Service and officiated at the graveside. Mr. Dawrie leaves a wife and children.
