NO LOITERING

BUS OWNERS FINED POST OFFICE RENDEZVOUS Seven bus owners who had defied the City Council edict that they ■should stop in Queen Street no longex* than the time required to pick up waiting passengers were fined £1 and costs at the Magistrate’s Court this morning. Mr. George Hogan, chief traflic inspector, pointed out that the bus drivers were not really allowed to stop outside the Post Office at all. They had taken advantage of the council’s indulgence, which permitted them to stop long enough to pick up waiting passengers. Some check was necessary on the drivers who were making the area outside the Post Office a hunting ground for passengers.
