TO SEASIDE NEXT WEEK
KING MAINTAINS HIS IMPROVEMENT EFFECT OF SOLID FOOD (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) ( United Service) Reed, 11.4 a.m. LONDON. Sunday. It is officially stated that the King’s improvement in health is being maintained. A bulletin issued at Buckingham Palace at 9.15 p.m. yesterday stated: “The King’s progress continues. The improvement of the past few days, in his condition renders it possible to lix an approximate date for his Majesty’s departure for the seaside, namely, the first week in February. The actual day naturally will depend on the weather.*’ Lord Dawson spent half an hour at the Palace this evening. Sir Stanley Hewett is still confined to his house with a cold. This is the first time since the King became ill that only one doctor has signed a bulletin. Lord Dawson was in the Palace barely half-an-hour. His Majesty has gained considerably in strength since he began to take solid food. He will be encouraged to sit up in bed possibly on Tuesday. Three van loads filled with extra furniture have arrived at Craig well House. Bognor. An invalid chair is among the articles. MESSAGE FROM AUCKLAND $ Satisfaction at the improvement in the King’s health was expressed by the Navy League at its annual conference this morning. On the motion of the president, Mr. John Alexander, the league decided to send a cable to the King, stating its loyalty and its gratification at his progress.
