NEW THEATRE OPENED

CRYSTAL PALACE, MOUNT EDEN Mount Eden's new picture theatre, the Crystal Palace, was officially open d on Saturday evening by the Mayor of the borough. Mr. K. 11. Potter, in the presence of a large audience. In declaring the theatre open the Mayor congratulated Amalgamated Theatres. Ltd., on having so fine a building in the district, and wished the management success. The theatre is well appointed and constructed in modern style. All the seats are on the one floor, which is inclined toward the stage. Novel lighting effects have been installed with pleasing effect. A commodious stage completer, a building which should achieve popularity among the residents of the district. A well-selected programme of pictures and trapeze turns by Mdlle. Michell followed the official opening.
