STOLE MESS FUNDS

PROBATION FOR FIREMAN Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Saturday. William Alexander Martin, aged 26, was admitted to probation for two years by Mr. E. D. Mosley, S.M., today, for the theft of £45 12s from the mess funds of the Christchurch Fire Brigade. One of the conditions of probation was that Martin should abstain from gambling and from visiting racecourses. He was ordered to refund £45 12s by instalments to be fixed by the probation officer.
