FIREMEN WHO STRUCK
PROSECUTIONS AT NAPIER Press Association NAPIER, T*o-day. In cases arising out of the trouble at Port Ahuriri on December 10 last, when firemen delayed the sailing of tho coastal vessel Tangaroa, three firemen and a watersider, R. Derbyshire, O. Mulholland, J. McKenzie and R Farmer, on charges of procuring lawlessness and intimidation, were convicted and sentenced to one month and 14 days’ imprisonment, with hard labour, respectively, in the Napier Police Court by Mr. A. M. Mowlem, S.M., this morning. E.. Hewitt. characterised by the magistrate as the ringleader, was .sentenced two months’ imprisonment on the first charge and 34 days’ imprisonment on a charge of assault. He was fined £lO and costs in default two months’ imprisonment.
