CYCLIST SUSPENDED
MAY NOT RIDE TILL 1930 (Australian and N.Z. Frets Association) SYDNEY, Friday. The Olympic cyclist, J. Standen, who joined the professional ranks a few weeks ago, has been suspended by the unions in Paris until May, 1930. Prior to leaving for the Olympic Games. Standen signed a paper promising to return his expenses, amounting to about £360, in the event of his leaving the amateur ranks within two years. The result of the suspension means that he will be debarred from competing as a professional cyclist in any part of the world during the period of suspension.
