“MODERN MOTHERS"
Helen Chadwick has one of the best roles in her- career in “Modern Mothers.” She is co-featured with Douglas Fairbanks, jun., and is supported by an exceptionally fine cast including Barbara Kent, Ethel Grey Terry, Alan Roscoe, Gene Stone and George Irving. The drama revolves around an actress, who for the sake of a career, has become estranged from her daughter and does not see the girl until she has grown to womanhood. The actress, surrounded by a glamour of sensational publicity stories, is not welcomed when she visits a small Massachusetts town to see her daughter. Guided by her sister, the actress does not reveal her identity to the girl. Later mother and daughter become rivals in love. In a powerful dramatic scene the girl upbraids the actress for stealing the love of a boy who might well be her son. From this moment the production works up to a powerful climax in which Miss Chadwick, young Fairbanks and Miss Kent rise to new heights in dramatic interpretation. nmol PriQnnprs WP.rfi SllD*
