PROPOSAL TURNED DOWN A further telegram showing the futility at the moment of considering any proposition for the immediate shipment of portion of Auckland’s surplus potato stocks to Australia has been received from the Minister of Agriculture, by Messrs E. A. Perkins and Sons. The Minis’ ter wires:— “Further to my telegram of 15th inst regarding importation of potatoes into* Australia. Now regret to advise following message received from Australian authorities. ‘Regret unable to accede to your request to permit the importation of potatoes , for food purposes.’ g. TV Forbes.”
