Husband Dies for Kisses of Others

Wife’s Trial Throws Light on Passion Crimes (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 12.45 p.m. PARIS, Friday. LURID light was thrown on the psychology of crimes of passion in France at the trial at the Assize Court at Riorn of Madame Godin, who is charged with the murder of her husband. Madame had been divorced before she married M. Godin and was the mother of two grown-up girls. She bought her second husband a business but said that he was lazy and addicted to women. There were continual quarrels and, finally angered, the wife pulled a loaded revolver from her stocking, and holding her husband with her right hand she shot him with her left, in the presence of her daughters, who did not intervene. When her husband fell, Madame Godin bent over his body and said, “Poor devil, I should like to kiss you* but I can’t. You are dying for the kisses of others.”
