THREE NEW RECORDS
OTAGO SWIMMERS BUSY SUCCESSES BY JUNIORS (Special to THE SCN) DUNEDIN, To-day. Last evening, at tlie Kiwi Club's carnival at the municipal baths, three I new records for New Zealand were set i up. A junior boy swimmer and an i intermediate girl were the successful competitors. Gcddcs, who holds the Dominion til3c for the junior boys’ 75yds breaststroke, covered the distance in 61 sec. In doing so he broke two records. One was the fresh-water record of 66 2-3 sec held by Boyd, of Wanganui, rind the other, the time of 62 l-3sec in salti water, held by the former Otago boy. Leslie Olds. j Maxiene Matliieson covered the disj tance in the intermediate girls’ 75yds j breast-stroke in 64 4-ssec. The Canterbury girl, Miss Breward, was the previous record-holder, in 66 2-Gsoc.
