Fifth Series Ending
SUBURBAN CRICKET GAMES
Harbour Board’s Good Position
WHEN three senior A matches in the Suburban Cricket Association's competition finish to-morrow, the fifth series of "antes in the first round will be over. Play on Anniversarv Dav on Tuesday will mark the beginning: of the second round Harbour Board, last season's champion team, is in the soundest position.
With 144 runs on for four wickets, the Boafid holds a strong position against the Green Laners, who made 129 in their first innings. Len Martin has added to his reputation in this match and seems likely* to come out once more with the honours on to - morrow’s play. Martin is something of an attraction at the Domain now. Arne Gcdye and Ralph Burton did good work for Ellerslie, which hit up the big score of 271 in its first innings against Victoria, which seems likely to meet defeat. The Victorians have 42 runs to their credit w'ithout a loss, but they will need to be in form to catch up Ellerslie. Ponsonby, which has toppled off its pedestal pointing to its consistency, will probably be badly beaten by Glen Eden, which produced surprising dash in its first innings, and scored 203 for six wickets. Ponies could muster only 161 runs. Teams; Senior B Grade Railway—M. Lawrence, G. Davis, R. Davies, A. Cox, H. Lawrie, J. Russell, J. Hawkes, W. Williams, B. Taylor. A. Gavan, A. Porteous, L.
