VARIED CHARACTERISATIONS

A few years ago Charles Farrell went West to Hollywood from Onset, Massachusetts, and ever since he has been coming East, cinematically speaking. He went to Baris in “Seventh Heaven.” Next he put on the garb of a Neapolitan street artist in “Street Angel,” and then he became a Russian Grand Duke in “The Red Dance.” Now he is making his appearance still further East in the title role of “Fazil,” a story of the Arabian desert, Venice and Paris. Greta Nissen has the leading feminine role.

Douglas Mac Lean’s latest picture for Paramount. “The Carnation Kid.” is nearing completion at the Christie studios. Mac Lean has acted in two versions, the first with talking sequences, and the other the silent copy, which will be released to those theatres not equipped with sound apparatus.
