£5,000 FOR RADIUM

GIFT FOLLOWS BROTHERS’ SUICIDE SACRIFICE RECOGNISED (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 9.20 a.m. LONDON, Wednesday. As a result of the tragic suicide of the twin doctors, Arthur Brown Smith and Sidney Smith, two anonymous donors have given the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary £5,000 for radium. The donors state that the gift is in memory of the spirit of devotion in the interests of suffering humanity exhibited by the two young doctors, who sacrificed their health by overwork, lack of recreation and holidays, which led to their tragic breakdown.
