WILL PROVIDE SHIPS

CANADIAN MINISTER’S PROMISE TRADE WITH THE ANTIPODES (Australian and Press Association) Received 10.25 a.m. OTTAWA, Wednesday. The Minister of Trade and Commerce, the Hon. James Malcolm, has given his definite assurance that if more vessel space is required for shipments to the Antipodes, the Canadian Government will provide it. A thorough investigation is being made regarding a steamship service between the Pacific Coast and Australia, preparatory to recommendations being made to the Cabinet. A conflict of opinion exists between shippers and steamship concerns on the adequacy or otherwise of present space.
