“WHEN DUTY CALLS” -When Duty Calls/’ the t/.A.K. release which commences its season a the Everybody’s Theatre this evening is an epic of the lire brigade. Directed by one of L’.F-A/s foremost director-, it concerns an aped fireman, who is pensioned off much to his consternation. after injuring his leg in an underground train smash, and his daughter Lore, who meets ;.nd falls in love with the fire chief. There tire some magnificent tire scenes in this feature, including the burning of the Scsvla Theatre in Berlin. It shows the nerve - racking tests through which recruits have to pass before being initiated into the fir - brigade, and how one fails if not clear in mind. Tlie cast ii.» eludes Rudolf Rittner. flelga Thomas. Henry S t u a r t. Curt Vesperonan. and Olga Tschecuwu. The second picture is "The M vine* Idol.” starring Bessie Love in a ktory of an old-time stage drama.
