Details of an Australian-wide search fur a good fast bowler who may be of use in a test match against England before the present series ends, are brought to New Zealand by a wellknown cricketer who has just returned from the Commonwealth. Financed by a Sydney daily newspaper. a rrumber of star Australian • ricketers of past and present are touring the country districts to watch likely boys, try them out and arrange for the passage to Sydney of any who *eem of exceptional promise. In the city they will be looked over by a selection committee of three, including Collins and Arthur Mailey, and will re- ' eive first-class coaching. By. this means it is hope# that if there is a fast bowler, or medium fast bowler in the - ountry who is discoverable he will at least be set upon the right path this season.
