“ALL TICKETS,. PLEASE”
PASSENGERS ONLY ALLOWED ON STATION ROTORUA EXPRESS COMPLAINTS Passengers on the Rotorua express are no* longer allowed to take their friends on to the platform to see them off. Two porters now guard the gates, and only those with tickets are allowed on the departure platform. This action has been taken because certain privileges have been abused. Quite frequently intending passengers have complained that they have been unable to find seats and yet. after the train has left the platform, there have been plenty of seats. It was found that friends of passengers had occupied the seats and bad stayed chatting until the train was ready to depart. On several occasions friends of passengers have stayed too long on the train, and the guard has had to climb on to the locomotive to ask the driver to stop and let them off. As the Rotorua train is an express this has caused unnecessary delays.
