SALE AND DELIVERY OF BEEP Press Association INVERCARGILL, Tuesday A case involving an interesting pc - i of law came before Mr. G. Crnfeksbank, S.M., at Bluff to-day. A two-gallon jar of beer was fille; in a hotel on a Saturday before 6 p.ir. and placed in a recess in the hall, ; purchaser’s intention being to call : it later. The proprietor discovert, the jar and replaced it for safety in. private bar, and handed it over to tipurchaser on the Sunday, The point the magistrate was callc on to decide was whether the sale :: liquor was actually completed whrr the purchaser removed the jar free, the bar in the first instance. Tl: magistrate held that legally the who!, transaction was finished on Saturd.v evening, and that delivery was complete, and on that ground the char: against the licensee of selling liqu:: after hours must be dismissed.
