Since the appearance of the handicaps these two horses have made a strong appeal to backers, and are sure to be very nearly favourites, if not the actualfavourites, in their respective engagements at the Shore. Handicap, have filled well, for out of the 28 horses handicapped for these two races only five dropped out on acceptance night last Friday. The field in the Cup is fully representative of Auckland provincial handicap horses, while the sprint field too is well up to standard. The horses remaining in the double events are as follow:
