BELATED THANKS
PUZZLED councillors scratched their heads in sad perplexity at the Mount Eden Borough Council last evening. A letter was received from the Minister of Internal Affairs thanking the council for a donation of £lO made to the Obstetric Hospital in London. Few members of the council could remember any such donation until the acting-town *r?erk explained that the letter referred to a grant made by the council in 1926. With some caustic remarks on departmental torpor, the letter was received.
