THEFTS FROM BATHS

MOUNT EDEN SWIMMERS SUFFER DELINQUENT CAUGHT Petty thieving from dressing sheds has been a source of annoyance to swimmers using the Mount Eden Baths. Suspecting a 13-year-old youth. Mr. H. Bransgrove, bath custodian, has had him under careful observation, with the result that lie was caught tampering with another bather’s clothing last Friday evening. When accosted the boy explained that he had been given permission to go there, but the owner of the clothing denied that in the presence of the delinquent. Mr. Bransgrove reported to the Mount Eden Borough Council last evening that he had expelled the boy from the baths and wished to cancel his season ticket. "I have known the boy for the past five years,” the report concluded. "He is precocious and has criminal tendencies.”
