ERRING MOTORISTS
CASES AT OTAHUHU There was only a small list of erring motorists to appear before Mr. F. H. Levien, S.M., at the Otahuhu Police Court yesterday. S. C. Siccamore drove a motor-lorry without having obtained a heavytraflic licence. He was fined 20s and costs 18s. William Taylor drove a motor-car without a driver’s licence, and was lined 20s and ordered to pay costs 10s. Cyril Wade Wright, who rode a motor-cycle with his hands off the handle-bars was fined 20s and costs 12s. Robert Greer, jun., and Charles W. Le Visque were debited with £1 10s and costs for driving motor-lorries past an intersection at a greater speed than allowed by the motor regulations. For a similar uffience Lawrence Alfred Knight was fined 20s. For driving a motor-lorry after sunset without head or tail lights, William Fulton was fined 10s on each charge, and ordered to pay costs 10s on each charge. No tail light on his motor-cycle cost Raymond A. Gillard 10s and costs 12s. William McFarlan’e drove a motorlurry after sunset without a tail light. He was fined 10s and costs 10s. James F. Highland drove a motorlorry with solid tyres at 22 miles an hour. He was fined 20s and ordered to pay 10s costs. A RESERVED DECISION Mr. Levien, S.M., delivered judgment in the case heard last court day, when Eric Friedlander was charged with driving a motor-car, at Braith waite’s Corner, Great South Road. Wiri, in a manner liable to be dangerous to the public. At the previous hearing it was stated that the car was travelling at 3G miles an hour. Counsel for defendant contended that there was no danger, as the driver had quite a good view of the locality. The magistrate, after inspecting the site, fined Friedlander £ 2 and costs
