WEEK-END PICNICS
MQTUIHI AND PINE ISLAND POWER BOARD OUTING Motuihi Island was the spot chosen by the employees of the Auckland Electric Povfrer Board for their annual picnic on Saturday. About 1,200 people were present, most of them travelling- down on the ferry steamer Condor, and an excellent programme of sports events was held. Mr. M. J. Bennett, a member of the Power Board, distributed the prizes on the homeward journey. Following is the prize-list: C. MoS la ™ Cup -—Mr. M. Moisley, 1; Mr. Veterans’ Race.—Mr. H. Lowe 1- Mr McDonagh, 2. Three-legged Race (ladies and gentlemen).—Miss D. Wilson and Mr S J Ball, 1; Mrs. Porteous and Mr. Porteous’, Ladies’ Obstacle Race.—Miss P. Smith. 1; Miss C. Block, 2. Local Bodies’ Race.—Mr. E. Anderson, 1, Mr. fehadbolt, 2Burroughs’ Race.—Miss Gallagher, 1: Miss Bullians, 2. Whistling- Race, —Mrs. Logan, 1: Miss Coulam, 2. Committeemen’s Race.—Mr. H de Wolfe, 1; Mr. T. Heard, 2. Cigarette in Flour Race.—Mr. C. Moore, 1; Mr. H. Ball, 2. Guessing Competitions. Mrs. B. Lowndes.
