RULING OUT STRIKES

COMPULSORY CONCILIATION IN FRANCE (Australian and N.Z. Press AssociationJ PARIS, Saturday. The Minister of Labour, M. Loucheur, has introduced in the Chamber of Deputies a Bill aiming at the prevention of strikes and lock-outs. The measure provides that conciliatory meetings between disputants shall be obligatory before a stoppage of work. In the event of failure to reach an agreement the Minister of Labour would be empowered under the Bill to order a. further attempt at conciliation, but arbitration would remain voluntary.
