MISS COPPLESTONE’S PLANS CURRENTS IN COOK STRAIT (Special to' THE &CN* BLENHEIM, To-day. On January 27, Miss Lily Copplestone, who returns South to-day, will be back at Pieton to wait favourable conditions for her attempt to conquer the tide-swept Strait. Arrangements have been left in the hands of Mr. F. O’Grady, who will hire a launch. The Mayor will call a, public meeting to get Pieton to support the next trip. Miss Copplestone. will stay with Mr. W. T. Toms, of Te Awiti, an old whaler, by whose advice regarding currents the course will be guided. The attempt will probably start further south than Cape Koamaru. Among many telegrams is one from Mr. E. F. Healy, M.P., on behalf of the people of Marlborough, urging her to go ahead.
