ASHHURST’S DAY

THE ANNUAL FIXTURE PROSPECTS FOR TO-MORROW The annual one-day meeting of the Ashhurst-Poll angina Club is to beheld at Ashhurst to-morrow. Acceptances all round are an improvement on last year, and the racing should hold the interest of those who will be at this fixture and not at Trentham. The course at Ashhurst is by no means perfect, for it is very much on the turn, and some of the corners are bad, while the barriers on bends do not make for confidence where the big operators want to get busy. Tlere are 27 paid up for in the Maiden, and it is more than probable that there will be a division, a rather common occurrence at Ashhurst. Several horses engaged here won at Foxton last week, and their penalties were as follow:—Hurdles: Hymestrason. 9.13. Siberia Hack: Atholspear, S.O: "W arfillc, 7.13. Komako Hack: Gold Cure, 9.5; Balloon, 7.9. Pohangina Handicap: Miss Pat, 9.5. Manawatu Gorge Handicap: Balloon, 8.2. The division list in the Maiden Stakes, in the event of there being 20 or more starters, will be as follows: First Division—Many Acres, Miss Atlanta, Marica, Bon Acre, Ahu Mai Speedaway, Ao Marama, Town Section, Mint Belle, Irish Moss, Vexillum Vauclue, The Perch. Tunbriige. Second Division—Basaloma. Waiorua, Sambur. Bonnie St-eam, Pot Shot, Merry Mixture. Wee Knight, Inflame. Bione. Atacama. Scottish Standard. Vanilla. Guide Light. The following promise to come in for keen support in their engagements to-morrow: Hack Hurdles: Hymestrason and Locarno. Maiden Stakes: Bon Acre and Mint Bell; Second Division: Bione and Inflame. Pohangina Handicap: The Raider and Epistle. Siberia Hack: Warfille and MoneAshhurst Cup: Royal Game and Henna. Komako Hack: First Ruler and Gold Bag. Raumai Handicap: Kilmezzo and Kalos.
