There lias been little or no work at Trentham to date, and this morning saw little improvement The trackhave firmed up decidedly, and the grass this morning was electric, the plough being about three seconds to the halfmile slower than those galloped in the centre of the trial grass. So. in following the gallops on this track, it ha:to be remembered that they covered slightly over the journey. Rapine and Star God onened the ball. Rapine ran his first two furlongs in 25, four in 51, and the mile in 1.43. drawing right away at the finish. He pulled up well. Quantum beat Endorse over five in 1-6, and Catkin beat Bourse over a mile well. Childsplay and the rest of H. Cut t s'.team did easy work. Tea Queen, Dresden China and Becky Sharp sprinted down the straight on the course proper. Panther, on the plough, loafed over four in 56, and Diana’s Lad galloped six in 1.171. Cimabue was anxious to go better than three-quarter pace. Historic and Royal Saxon, slow in the early stages, on the plough ran a mile in 1.50, Historic coming awav itt the end. SMART SPRINT Joy King gave Awarere a start and a decisive beating over five in 1.1. Rory Mor and Chertsey went five in 1.5 1-5, Toxeuma and Millais six in 1.17 2-5, Knightlike and Shot Silk four in 49£, and Tobaccoland (on the plough) four in 52. Oratrix and Concentrate did easy work on the plough. Oratrix knocked herself yesterday. Aussie, hard held, ran five in 1.1 4-5, and Australis and Kiriana six in 1.19.
The Dove, Tourist and Araenio ran four in 511, and Papatu did a mile on the plough in 1.45.
On the course proper First Monev beat Sapient, Rush and Crash over four in 49 2-5.
Don Quixote beat General Assembl; and Grand Blow in 50, and Courtlik beat Ex Dono and Lady Rene in 51 J.
