VICTORY’S NORFOLK CRUISE
CREW HONOURED AT SOCIAL In appreciation of the yacht voyage to Xorfolk Island and back recently undertaken by the crew of the keeler Victory. members of the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron entertained the men at a social last evening. The commodore. Mr. W. P. Endean, presided. The guests were Captain G. George his brother. Mr. H. J. c. George and Mr. Cecil Bowman. The large attendance listened with great interest to Captain George’s narrative. Jlr Endean congratulated the crew upon a daring and well-conducted venture.
OLIVEBANK SAILING. At two o’clock this afternoon the Finnish baJtjue Olivebank is to be towed to sea by the tug Te Awhina. The Olivebank is proceeding to Australia to load wheat for the Continent. MARGARET W.—Watkin and Wallis advise that the auxiliary schooner Margaret W. leaves Thames to-day for Auckland, where she is due this evening. She will berth at the Western Wharf, where she will refit and have new engines installed. WATERSIDERS’ PICNIC. —Next Wednesday the watersiders and the seamen will hold their picnic, consequently no work will be done on the waterfront. Cargo for the Northern Company's vessels leaving port on Wednesday will be received on Tuesday. PORT PIRIE REPORTS AGAIN.— Wireless advice received from the Commonwealth and Dominion Line steamer Port Pirie states she will reach Auckland at 5 a.m. on Monday. The vessel is from New York with case oil and general merchandise for discharge at Auckland. Napier, Wellington. Lytteltor. and Dunedin. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneer - i ngCompany are the local agents. PORT OF ONEHUNGA—ARRIVALS TO-DAV RARAWA <7.45 a.m.l. 1,077 tons. Bark, from New Plymoutn. The Hauturu is leaving Onehunga this afternoon for Hokianga, and is due back on Tuesday. The Arapawa. due at Onehunga tomorrow from Wanganui, via the coast, sails on Monday at 3 p.m. for Raglan, Kawhia and Waikato Heads. The Rarawa, which arrived at Onehunga this morning from New Plymouth, sails at 4 p.m. on Monday on her return trip. The Anchor Company’s steamer Kaitoa is due at Onehunga on Wednesday next to load for Nelson.
