‘PAN’S PASSION” WAS FIRST NAME OF BARRIE FILM
CIR J. M. BARRIE'S experiences with film producers have been somewhat unfortunate, mainly because they have been unable to agree with his choice of titles.
He had an experience of this when his “Admirable Crichton” was renamed by Cecil de Mille “Male and Female.” It is said that he had to bring pressure to bear on the same company, Paramount, to prevent it from calling the “Peter Pan” film “Pan’s Passion.”
His play, “Half an Hour.” which Is now being made as a “talkie,” is definitely sentenced to go out as “The Doctor's Secret.”
