ENGINEER’S EXPLANATION CONVENIENCE "OFFICIALLY CLOSED” That the tarpaulin convenience at j the Otahuhu railway workshops has been officially closed for at least five or six weeks was the statement made to The Sun yesterday by Mr. J. Dow, new works engineer for the department. He referred to the photograph published on Thursday, and said it was that of a structure which had been erected to tide over the period during which the temporary conveniences were being erected. The men now had instrLictions not to enter it. “As a matter of fact,” said Mr. Dow, “I did not know it was there. It has been officially closed since before Christmas and orders had been given for its removal. Evidently these were not obeyed.” Mr. Dow stressed the fact that the
