DOMINION BOWLING CHAMPIONSHIPS DE LAUNAY BEATEN IN FINAL (Special to THE SUN) WELLINGTON, To-day. THE New Zealand bowling tourney was continued to-day, again in excellent weathei sunny, warm, and still. The singles finals resulted in Coltman (Carlton) becoming champion by defeating De Launay (Epsom), 20—12. Coltman outplayed De Launay and won on the 20th head by 20 to 12. Coltman was very steady and, drawing beautiful shots, was always too good for the Epsom man. lie deserved his victory*. De Launay' got a three on the second head, then on the ninth tipped the jack to the Carlton man, losing two. De Launay burned the tenth and Coltman won the replay'. Coltman got a three on the 11th, and a couple of pairs on the 15th and 17th, his opponent securing only' singles. The game ended on the 20 th head with the Epsom man trying to burn the head and failing. Coltman was easily the best man on the day’s play and his win was .receivu. heartily. RINKS CHAMPIONSHIP Bremner, West End. is 17 to McWhannell’s (Hataitai) 6 on the 10 th head in the semi-final of the rinks championship.
