FOURTEEN KILLED
RELIEF TRAINS CRASH A STRANGE DISASTER (Australian and N.Z. Press Association! Reed. 9 a.m. BUKAREST, Wed. A strange concatenation of events resulted in 14 persons being killed and 40 were seriously injured in a railway accident. An express from Craiova broke an axle. A message was sent to Balata for a relief train. This train, hurrying to the scene of the mishap, collided with another relief train sent from Turnuseverin, with disastrous consequences. It is alleged that the accident was due to a driver being under the influence of drink and not seeing the other train. The wrecked coaches caught lire. It was four and a-half hours before doctors were available.
