MUNICIPAL BAND
CONCERT IN ALBERT PARK Crowds gathered under the trees in the cool of the evening to listen to the Municipal Band playing in Albert Park last evening. Under the leadership of Mr. Christopher Smith, the following numbers were given: Overture. “Poet and Peasant” (Suppe) ; patrol, “The British” (Asch) ; waltz, “Nights of Gladness” (AnclilTe) ; suite, “In a Lover’s Garden” (Ketelby); berceuse, “Angels Guard Thee” (Gounard); selection, “Sullivan Operas”; march, “The Trossachs” (Fitz-Earle): tone poem, “Night’s Enchantment” (Ribble) ; selection, “Attila” (Verdi); air de ballet. "Language of the Roses” (-Kretschmer); march, “The Fez” (F. Panella). This evening the Municipal Band will give a concert in the Parnell Park. The programme will include Suppe’s “Morning, Noon, and Night” overture; “Creation’s Hymn/’ by Beethoven”; a selection from “Aida,” by Verdi; Handel’s “Harmonious Blacksmith”; and Raff’s “Cavatina.” The final scenes of British International’s picture “Kitty” were completed at Elstree last week and V. .-tor Saville, the well-known producer who has taken elaborate pains over < conceivable detail of this picture, is well advanced with the r in d editing of the negative. John Stewart, Estelle Brody, Dorothy Cummins and a strong company are in this wellknown story by Warwick Deeping. The settings and mountings are simply remarkable. Cinema Art Films will release this picture during the year.
