New Zealand bowling tournament to-day, when Parsons (Ponsonby), after winning his section outright with five wins, with- I drew from the competition owing to a dispute with the Tournament Committee. Mount Albert, with Hunt as lead landed three wins and two losses, and did not qualify. Gordon (Carlton), with frost, four wins and a loss, did not qualify. Duncan (Auckland), three wins and two losses, with Ryan, of Kemuera, failed to get in the post -ection. Toy (Ellerslie) had three wins and two losses, as also has Bainbridge and Nairn, of Mount Eden, and Coltman and Gladding, of Carlton. Kerr (Masterton) had four wins, just failing to qualify. Findlay and Turner (Mount Eden) have five wins, losing their fourth round to Naylor (Thorndon), 18-22. The Mount Eden pair now play Routley (Kelburp). Jones and Stevenson (.Mount Eden) only won two games. Armstrong (Pukekohe), with short leading, had four wins, but it was not sufficient to qualify. Higgott and Jenkin (AVhitiora) have been giving good displays, and they have five wins, and now p.’ay Rennie, of Christchurch. POST SECTION PLAY The draw for the second round of post-section play is as follows:—Rennie (Christchurch), v. Higgott (Whitiora): Routley (Kelburn), v. Findlay (Mount Eden); Kruse (Hastings), v. Jack (St. John’s); Smith (Dunedin), v. Parkhouse (Wellington). Edwards (Temuka), a past winner of this competition, now meets the winner of the Hueston (Gisborne) and Torrance (Thorndon) game. Blair (V.8.A.), the only Australian player qualifying, plays Hall (Carterton). Clarke (West End) plays Bain (Levin); Martin (Hataitai) plays Buchan (Balmacewan) ; Reece (United) plays Pending (Hataitai); Morton (Masterton} plays Sherwood (Lyall Bay); West (Edgeware) plays Stephens (Kelburn); Max- Walker plays Pranks (Masterton); Efford (Edgeware) plays McWhannell (Hataitai), and Laurenson (Linwood) gets a bye. The rinks and pairs will be continued to-day, and it is hoped the competitions will reach the final stages by Saturday forenoon, but it is possible that play will be extended to the following Monday, though every effort will be made to avoid this happening.
