KING’S SLOW PROGRESS

IMPROVEMENT NOTED ANOTHER QUIET DAY British Official Wireless Reed. 11.40 a.m. RUGBY, Tuesday. Too much significance should not be attached to the fact that no bulletin regarding the King was issued last, night or this morning. It is merely an indication that the doctors did not anticipate any great change in his Majesty’s condition. The patient had a comfortable dayyesterday, and this morning it was stated authoritatively that his slow progress is being continued. The Queen, who has been suffering from a cold, has now practically recovered. It is also understood that Prince George, who has contracted a slight chill, is better this morning. A bulletin issued at 5.15 p.m. states that the King had a quiet day. The progress previously noted, though slow, continues. The next bulletin will be issued on Thursday morning. KING’S GOOD WISHES CABLE TO SERVICE LEAGUE MESSAGE FROM THE QUEEN Press Association WELLINGTON, To-day. The following message from the Queen has been cabled from the headquarters of the British Empire Service League: “I know the King, in the first year that he is patron-in-chief of the league, will wish God-speed to its work, and I hope that 1929 will bring all happiness and prosperity to its members and supporters.” The message is in reply to expressions of wishes for the King’s speedy and complete recovery, which had been sent to the Empire headquarters from all quarters, including New Zealand.
