SNOW BESETS EXMOOR

A VILLAGE ISOLATED HARD WINTER IN BRITAIN British Official Wireless. RUGBY, Monday. Severe frosts throughout Britain have been followed by a gradual thaw. The residents of Exmoor have experienced in the last fortnight the most severe weather known for some years. Gales followed the heavy snow and drifts were formed, in some places to a depth of 15ft. Tlie moorland village of Simonsbath, 30 miles north of Tiverton, was cut off from the outside world, for five days, but a path has now been made from Dulveiton, 10 miles away. The frost had been so hard that saws were used to cut a space before spades could be employed.
