HAIR TURNING GREY

WORRIED OVER ERRING MOTORISTS SUB-INSPECTOR PERTURBED “Worry over these cases is turning my hair grey much more quickly that it should be,” asserted Sub-Inspector McCarthy at the Police Court this morning. Mr. McCarthy referred to a large number of charges made against motorists and garage owners who liad failed to notify changes of ownership to the deputy-registrar of motor vehicles. The Sub-Inspector considered that the trouble arose because, when a car was sold or traded in, both seller and purchaser left it to each other to inform the authorities. The result was that it was not done, two charges had to he laid, one against each party to the deal, and endless trouble was caused to the police and the registrar’s office.

Fines of £1 down to the imposition of costs were imposed!
