ROYAL SHOWS “THE BARKER”
Characterisation in its most realistic form is the specialty of Milton Sills, who is now adding a new figure to his personal galaxy in the title role of "The Barker,” now at the Royal Thea* tre, Kingsland. He has been a pirate, steel worker. Klondike prospector. Foreign Legion adventurer, lumberman, war ace, and many other types. His latest is that of a sideshow spieler or "barker” in the vernacular of the tent shows. Sills’s make-up is astonishing in that, while little actual facial make-up is used, the expressions and the loud attire complete an ensemble that is quite perfect, according to experts. A complete carnival was engaged for the picture, adapted from the famous stage play of that name. “Silk Begs.” an amusing comedy - drama, starring the popular Madge Bellamy, will also be shown.
