TRICKY GREENS YESTERDAY PARSONS HAS THREE WINS DRAW FOR RINKS (Special to THE SUE ) WELLINGTON. To-day. The weather was dull, with a gusty : wind, for the continuation of the New j Zealand bowling tournament, the being commenced on 16 greens, with j 448 players in action. The competi- 1 tion was won last year by Logan and j Dunphy (Maitai, Nelson), who have lost two games in the lirst three rounds this year. l’arsons and Somervell (Ponsonby) 1 won all their games, and the pair are I going to be hard to beat. They meet McDonald (North End) and McDougall (Christchurch), and should win. Clarke (West End) won his lirst and second round, and Toy (Ellerslie) lost his first two rounds. Bremner (West ldnd), with C. Hardley, won the first round by a single point, and the second by two points, and then lost the third game against Stephens (Kelburn), who was undefeated in his games. Clark (Mount Albert) lost his first two games, and his third is not to j hand. Cordon and Frost (Carlton) won their two games in the first and second rounds. Duncan (Auckland) won both games in the morning play, and Painbridge (Mount Eden) lost two games in the morning, and won his third against a strong pair from Dunedin, Lindsay (Caledonian), 29 —19. Ryan secured a win and a loss, and Kerr (Masterton), with Faulkner, won both his early rounds. COLTMAN UNLUCKY Coltman, with Gladding, lost his first round by a point, and then won his next two games. Jones and ITardley (Ponsonby) lost two and won one. Jones and Stevenson (Mount Eden) won tlieir first two games, and lost the third. Findlay (Hamilton) won the first two rounds, and the third round is not available. Daniels and Paterson (Remuera) won their only game to-day by a default, losing the first and third rounds, the latter game, 15 —26, to McWhannell (Hataitai) who is in the rinks postsectional play. BELL HEAVILY BEATEN Trayes and Delamore (Mount Eden) have two losses and one win. Bell (Hamilton) lost badly to Sherwood (Lyall Bay), 12 —26, in the first round. Ure (Auckland) lost his first and second rounds, and won the third, getting a lovely eight on to a Canterbury pair, Ives and Delargey, whom he downed, 25 —12. Fruish and Pilkington (Hamilton) won tlieir first and second games, and lost the third. Hawke (Mount Albert), with Thomas as lead, won the first, and then went down heavily, 4 —30, to a Blenheim pair (Thomson’s), and won the third game, 18—-16. The doubles will be continued on Tuesday, when the fourth and fifth rounds will be completed. Postsectional play in the pairs will be on the ‘'sudden death” principle. POST-SECTION RINKS DRAW In the draw for rinks (ninth round), for six and seven winners on Wednesday, M. Walker meets King (Hastings), and Bremner plays Bell (Seatoun). T indlay (Mount Eden) meets Bartlett
(Nelson) and Bell (Hamilton) is to play Rennie (Christchurch). This match should be a good one, as the Canterbury rink is a hot proposition. Parsons meets Lowry (Kelburn). and Hosking should account for Langley (Caledonian).
