A party of police from Christchurch made a raid on an alleged sly grog 1 shop at Hanmer Springs on Saturday j and secured a good haul of liquor, i Since the destruction by fire of Jollie’s | Pass Hotel the district has been “dry,” j the Lands Department having declined j to renew the lease of the section on * which the hotel formerly stood.
