POPULARISING REVUE
GEORGE WALLACE AT ST. JAMES George Wallace, during the extended season of his revue company at St. James Theatre, has been responsible for a great increase in Auckland of the poularity of revues. The company is still putting-on entertaining programmes, with an abundance of fresh humour. George Wallace, of course, is the most prominent fun-maker. He is never at a loss in providing some original turn. Big and breezy, Marshall Crosby, the leading male singer, plays a big part. He is in most of the sketches. Marie Nyman sings delightfully. She Ef an asset to the company, and her work is always convincing. The “Six Rascals” ballet does excellent work, too, and is frequently on the stage. Good trucking is a pleasing feature of the chorus. The jazz band is always well received. It plays all the latest numbers. Jack Scott and Maida Jones are two other versatile members of the company. This week. George Wallace features two of his own sketches, and so has abundant opportunities of appearing on tlio stage. liis antics are inimitable.
